Sustainability

We believe deeply in ensuring Discovery is a sustainable organisation of the future. One where our biggest environmental impacts are addressed, and our greatest opportunity; preparing pupils for an ever-changing world are maximised. Our curriculum and learning opportunities empower our staff to understand and encourage the sustainable literacy of our pupils with the platform to contribute to the stewardship of the world we live in.

Through a carbon management programme and our sustainability strategy, Discovery consistently work towards reducing our carbon footprint.

Our commitment

We encourage all staff and pupils to be responsible for their actions and how they live sustainably. Discovery commits to communicating its environmental policy and strategy to staff, pupils and other stakeholders by raising awareness amongst these groups of their own environmental responsibilities and the requirement to commit to environmental improvements.

Discovery’s strategy is ambitious and seeks to place our activity at the forefront of environmental sustainability within the education sector. Over the next few years, our intention is to produce plans that are practical, measurable (wherever possible) and deliverable, remaining focused on a few key areas that we can ensure we have the greatest impact upon.
