Ruth Malkin joins the Discovery Board of Trustees
We are delighted to announce that Ruth Malkin is the newest recruit to join the Discovery Board of Trustees. Ruth has had a long association with Discovery as a former governor at Danemill Primary School which joined the Trust in 2013.
Ruth has an excellent insight of both local and board governance. She has served as chair of the School Improvement Committee and is currently the chair of the Advisory Board at Captains Close.
Ruth is excited to now take on the role of trustee. Ruth said:
I am delighted to join the Discovery Board and am looking forward to playing an active role. I want to ensure that at all levels – children come first – and as a Board our priority is enabling them to become the best version of themselves.
We are fortunate to have an exceptionally skilled and dedicated Board of Trustees who give up their own time to support the development of the trust. Ruth’s skills and experience will complement the existing board and her appointment supports the board’s aim to achieve greater diversity.
As well as her education governance experience, Ruth brings a broad skills set gained working in the financial sector for over 30 years within a variety of roles – accountancy, technical support, IT security, procurement and now a governance role within IT Risk and Compliance.
Richard Bettsworth, Chair of Trustees said:
We are continuing our efforts to strengthen and diversify the membership of the Board of Trustees. I am thrilled that Ruth Malkin will be adding her experience and expertise to that of the current Board members.
