We are proud to be delivering teacher training through Inspiring Leaders Teacher Training, training the next generation of Primary school teachers for our schools across Leicester and the wider Leicestershire region.
Inspiring Leaders Teacher Training is an Ofsted ‘Outstanding’ provider that leads an innovative School-Centred Teacher Training (SCITT) programme to support trainees in making a real difference in their local community. Trainee teachers who go on to qualify will receive Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), as well as a Post-Graduate Certificate of Education (PGCE) with the University of Derby.
The programme is delivered by our outstanding practitioners and subject leaders, many of whom currently work as teachers in our Leicestershire Primary schools, ensuring our trainees receive the best training in current teaching practices.
Our Trust is committed to hosting, training and mentoring our trainee teachers, many of whom go on to secure employment within our community after qualifying, strengthening the Primary teaching landscape across Leicester.

A passion for teacher education
Since the inception of Discovery in 2012, we have been committed to becoming a provider of high-quality initial teacher training (ITT) to ensure that our schools have a flow of talented new teachers to recruit from. We know at Discovery that if we want children to have the best possible education that they need to be taught by the best teachers. The way we can ensure happens is to train our own.
In 2014 we became a government accredited provider of ITT, called Inspiring Leaders Teacher Training with our partners at Flying High Trust and have since been recognised by Ofsted as an outstanding provider. In 2022, Inspiring Leaders Teacher Training was reaccredited, to continue to deliver high quality teacher training for the foreseeable future. Our programme is school centred with a focus on learning whilst you are based in schools and from our best leaders and subject experts. We work closely with the University of Leicester to award PGCE for our trainees and are recognised as a great place to train to teach by our trainees and schools.
Each of our schools is committed to hosting, training and mentoring new teachers and since 2012 our partnership has trained primary teachers, many of whom have been employed in our schools and continue to thrive today.
