Merrydale Junior School feature in film for The Economist

Earlier this year, Merrydale Junior School were delighted to take part in filming for global news and current affairs publication, The Economist.

Following the disruption to education caused by the Covid pandemic, The Economist wanted to create a film to explore how tech could transform children’s education.  As part of their film, they wanted to showcase how the Century app can be used in schools to facilitate learning.

Laurie Davis, Year 4 Teacher at Merrydale is the Trust’s Century Lead.  Her role as Century Lead is to support schools within the Trust to integrate Century into the curriculum and help them to develop the usage of the platform more effectively – helping support with closing the gaps in the children’s learning.

Laurie and the school were thrilled to be part of this film.  Laurie said, “It was a fantastic opportunity for us to take part in the filming and the children that participated in the film were amazing attributes to Merrydale Junior School and also the Trust”.

The whole film can be viewed here.
