Discovery Trust are delighted to have been selected to run a new £9.3m ‘net zero’ primary school being built in the heart of south Leicestershire.

We will run the 210-pupil Wellington Place Primary School, which is currently under construction off Airfield Road on the William Davis’ Airfield Farm housing estate, Market Harborough, Leicestershire.

 The eco-friendly school will include teaching spaces for pupils with special educational needs, a multi-use play area, nature areas and parking and drop-off spaces. Bat and bird boxes will be installed to encourage wildlife. Wellington Place will serve the new development, providing a much-needed community hub and central community space for a brand-new community. The school will open with a morning and afterschool wraparound care facility, which will grow with the school. We aim to host holiday clubs in the main school holidays for children of Market Harborough.

The Local Authority wishes to open the new schools’ doors in a phased approach beginning in September 2024, in time for the new academic year.
