Discovery holiday camps provide those children and others with a chance to be part of something exciting and innovative. providing new challenges, meeting new friends, and challenging themselves in a safe and supportive environment, which builds confidence, whilst providing an enriching learning experience that inspires children throughout their lives. Holiday camps are a less formalised version of the school route in play, regardless of the child age. Play is such an undervalued part of a child’s development and through holiday camps we get a chance to re-engage with this vital learning tool. ‘ Paul Stone – CEO Discovery
The school holidays for children and parents/carers alike can often prevent challenges. Our clubs aim to provide safe, exciting and inspirational activities for the children at an affordable cost to their parents/carers. Children will experience a range of activities designed to enhance their life skills and learning.
Activities in our Holiday Camps include the following:
Children attending Camps need to provide their own packed lunch, water is available throughout the day, and a healthy morning snack is provided.
Children can attend any holiday camp and these camps are also open to non-Discovery Schools children too! Camps are open from 8am to 4pm and you can choose between full–day, or short-day sessions. Camps are booked and paid for in advance, and the link for this is here
Our Site and Activity Leaders are experts in the delivery of the activities that will be provided in the camps and will ensure your child has a great time every day.
Our Discovery Holiday Camps run every school holiday apart from Christmas at a number of our school sites for children in Foundation – Year 6.
“Such a great idea to hold these half term holiday camps where children can still interact socially with their friends whilst making new ones. Such a diverse amount of activities gave my son an amazing week that he said he couldn’t wait to come back! Well done and Thanks to all who made this possible.” (Parent)
Discovery also run HAF camps. HAF camps run for 6 weeks each year and your school will invite your child/children to attend where they are eligible. We have limited places at these clubs, and they are completely free of charge to the family.
Food is provided free of charge and the activities are the same as in our Holiday Camps. We work in partnership with local groups to provide a hot meal at some of our locations. These clubs run from 11am-3pm each day and information will be sent to you via school, from our Extended Service Manager, Lee Gill, to let you know how it works.
We also provide HAF clubs for children in our communities who are not attending a Discovery School. Contact Lee Gill for further information
