Discovery hosts an annual awards event each year to recognise the hard work, commitment, innovation and achievement of our children and staff from our family of schools.
Our events are split into two sections – an early evening ceremony for children and their families, followed by a later staff awards event and celebration. Over the past 7 years we have welcomed over 500 people each year to help celebrate the successes of our pupils and staff. Our awards events take place at The King Power stadium to which gives the event a special feel and creates a brilliant atmosphere for our pupils and staff. All of the nominees and award winners are nominated by their Headteacher each year and those who are shortlisted to attend the awards are visited by our media team to create a special video which is played on the night.
We work our hardest to make sure that the awards event feels special for our pupils ensuring that our winners and nominees feel a great sense of pride for their hard work and effort. All our award winners are presented with a specially designed Discovery glass trophy and our runners up receive a certificate, as they leave the stage at the event. The excitement and pride of our winners really shines through at our events creating memories that will stay with our children for a lifetime! The staff celebration is a more informal affair but no less special.
Every year the quality of our nominees and winners is exceptional and it is brilliant that we can share success across our schools at the end of each year. It creates a collective sense of pride and help build a sense of community.
